Pretend she's not there when you look in the mirror.
She doesn't exist,
Pretend you don't see her.
She's gone now,
A past creation:
She's just a figment of your imagination.
She was the one considered stupid and dull,
She was the one that had no friends at all.
But now you're here to take her place
To replace hers with your own face.
She's the one that never fought,
and would always hide.
Push her away -
Push her deep down inside.
Remember: she's not there when you look in the mirror
She doesn't exist
Pretend you don't see her.

- Title: Pretend You Don't See Her
- Artist: Lady Caitri
- Description: I wrote this in 6th grade (I'm in college, now). I think the poem mostly speaks for itself. It was definitely a challenging point in my life, because I was torn between just being myself and trying to fit in with everyone around me - a classic struggle that I'm sure almost everyone can relate to (especially girls), no matter how much they might claim to be content with being "different." Everyone wants to be loved and accepted - you're not human if you don't.
