• Description: Just a cute little poem I wrote on a car trip a while ago. I don't usually write poetry, but the line "I wanted to be a painter, but I didn't have the colors" just popped into my head and the rest as they say is history.

Tried to write a novel, but it couldn't have been duller;
Tried to be a painter, but I didn't have the color.
Tried to sing a ballad but the notes just weren't right;
Tried to dance a ballet but my tutu was too tight.
Tried my hand at science but was sad I couldn't fly;
Tried to act in Hamlet but I just couldn't die.
I tried playing jazz guitar but just ended up blue,
So I guess I'll be a poet - and I wrote this one for you.
