• Day One

After getting dressed for the first big day
I hop onto my comfortable bike,
ready for the tiring journey ahead.
Though I am feeling giddy all the same,
    off we go.

    *Arriving at school, kinda tired~*

Now a lump of slime and sweat,
    and the butterflies subsided,
it gives way to short breath and fast heart...
    Still nervous.

    *Walking to the main doors*

I try to be prepared for this one day.
The shifty glances and averted eyes.
Flutterbies 'n' all, I'm not doing well.
    Now to pray.

    *As I walk in*

Stepping into school, the first thing I see?
    Linoleum man-movers, all off-white.
Schools in session, with the hall's congestion.
People packed in, like sardines in a can,
    slow, nasty.

    *1st period*

    Opening with track & field,
which does bring with it its own problems.
Also solutions, if not an outright curse.
    I'll get through.

    *2nd period*

    Contemporary History.
    What, exactly, does that entail?
Teacher seems smart enough to me,
I just hope he gets cynicism...
    Think he will?

    *3rd period*

My third class had us herded like cattle,
    fit with new bovine-befitting IDs.
She made our names into a game for her,
but she'd certainly give you her number,
    if y'please.

    *4th period*

And now that that's over, I have P.E....
Of course I wouldn't be on the roster.
I do know the coach is pretty cool, though,
he's the same person as in track & field,
    so lucky.

    *Lunch bell*

Everyone stands up as the lunch bell rings,
racing each other like starved animals.
    They're just fat.

    *5th period*

    French One after lunch,
    a beautiful blonde
    sits in front of me.
    I just may french one,
    but she's kind of dumb,
    I think.

    *6th period*

Of course this is gonna embarrass me,
being a drama class and all, I'm scared.
Having to stand up on stage, vulnerable.
Least I'm not doing a musical, right?
    Possibly crying

    *7th period*

At the end, my favourite class by far,
I get to speak Spanish with ev'ryone,
the review showing my skills are on par.
Our last bell rings and I'm off like a gun
    ... Got no car.

    *Last bike ride*

The ride before being that difficult,
you can only imagine the ride back.
Sweaty face, burning thighs, all out of sorts,
though I do get a nice rest at the end.

    *Home*

All in all, after a grueling school day,
I'm really hot, sweaty, and exhausted.
