She stumbles back into the door in surprise to see a brown spiky haired sixteen year-old that looks oh so familiar.
“Sora…!?” She grabs him into a bear hug. “You’re back!”
“Hunh, you know…?” He says in panic.
“That you left…yeah…you’ve been gone for two years now buddy boy.” She lets him go and smiles in a sisterly manner. “I missed you….”
“And what about me…?” She turns and sees a guy about a head taller than her with shoulder length silver hair, bangs in front aqua –green eyes.
“It’s you…!” She exclaims and tackles him to the ground, his vest’s collar in her fists. “You good for nothing lazy bum, we had a project to do and you just up and left you jerk! I lost two whole months of my life because of you!” She snaps. Usually she is the type to forgive and forget anything and everything, but she has to act clueless. [ Sorry Riku…but I can’t just go “Oh hey, how was your trip to other world?” or “Oh I know you were busy saving other worlds after falling into darkness and then being saved, so its all good!”…You’d all ask question and won’t understand…no one has since Keira and her family….] She fakes her anger, expecting the usual angry-wise crack from him, but id met with an apology. “Eh…?”
“I’m sorry….” He says with a sincere look on his face.
[They’re pitying me…because I was always ridiculed…they know now that I wasn’t dreaming. They’re pitying me….] She then remembers what Kairi said outside. [She was going to ask them if I can be in on it…the “unknown” truth….] She gets off of Riku, her anger gone, replaced with an empty numb feeling. “That’s all right…que sera sera….” She says, forcing a fake smile. “Well…I have to go talk to…Ms. Hika-I mean Mom and change….” She leaves the room and finds her mother sleeping.
She leaves a small square wrapped box with a card beneath it on the bedside table next her. Terry leaves the room and leaves her school bag in her room and grabs another one. She sneaks out her bedroom window and jumps down to the ground stealthily from the second floor. She quietly runs to the hiding spot of her boat and quickly sets sail. She first heads straight to the hang out island that Sora, Riku, and Kairi usually stay. Once near the dock, she ties down her boat and grabs her bag.
[Its time to pull off the switch….] She jumps onto the sand and runs straight through the center of the island, going around what obstacles she needs to and ends up on the other shore. She pulls out another boat and sails once again to another island. She eventually reaches an island a lot bigger than the hangout island yet a bit smaller than the main island. It has a beautiful white sand shore that goes around the whole island that is about a mile, give or take, wide. Right when the sand ends, the grass begins which slowly grows into thicker foliage and leads to a forest. No one but her knows about this island’s existence since it’s out of site form the hangout island and pretty far as well. This is Terry’s island that she keeps secret and has kept secret ever since she found it on the second day of her arrival of this world or also known as “the second day from her dream”.
She leaves her boat ashore and once again runs with bag slung on her shoulder. She follows a small worn path she made form coming here all the time. She eventually stops after a few turns here and there ending up at the entrance of the cave. She enters the dark cavern and slowly walks through the hallway and into a round room. She pulls out a small self made lantern.
“Fire….” She mutters softly and instantly the lantern lights up and she heads to the wall in front of her, feeling about for something. She eventually finds a round discus shaped rock and rolls it aside, entering the hole behind it. Carefully and silently she descends below and soon reaches a dark room with some glimmers of shine here and there.
She hooks the lantern on to a rock that is jutting out of the wall and rummages through her messenger bag, pulling out a small loaded crossbow. She aims into the darkness, muttering the same word from before and the top of the arrow becomes a blaze and she launches it. A clink sound is made as it hits something and a sets a giant lantern a light that hangs a few feet from the ceiling. The light illuminates the once dark cavern to reveal that it is made purely out of crystals. She places the crossbow back in her bag and pulls out a black cloth. They shine and reflect the light as she heads towards the slightly raised plateau, lying upon after blindfolding her closed eyes with the black cloth.
Slowly a blurry vision begins to form before her, sharpening into the hangout island. There she sees Riku, Kairi, and Sora all standing about her boat as she over hears their conversation.
“Her boat is here, but she isn’t!” Kairi panics.
“She usually does this…remember?” Sora reassures.
“Yeah, but her boast is usually with her! Her boat is her and we looked everywhere!”
“I’m sure she’s fine. She can take care of herself. But once we find her…are we just going to tell her everything…?” Riku says after examining the boat.
“Its only fair…I mean if it weren’t for her, we’d never even think about other worlds…. We would have never gone through all that.” Sora adds.
“Yeah…we would have been here that whole time….”
Terry jolts up at her sudden thought that was the same as Riku’s.
[I’m the one that lead him to the darkness…? If it weren’t for me…he would’ve never cared and would’ve never had to go through that ordeal…it’s my fault….] She forces herself to ignore the sudden pang of guilt and calms herself, clearing her thoughts before lying down once again.
Another vision surrounds her, forming into the shape of a small town square, which itself is literally in the shape of a square with a new fountain erected in the center. Shops line the square; the stores are closed as the lanterns light up. All shops except for one. The sign hanging above it has a blacksmith symbol on one side with the shoemaker symbol on the other.
In the blacksmith’s shop stands an elvan woman about the age of twenty. Her long brown hair is tied back into a ponytail with a bandana tied on her head, her bangs parted on the right. She is dressed in a knee length apron, brown gloves, sandals, knee length pants, and a half sleeved shirt. She is arguing with a very tall man with one black wing protruding form his back. He is mainly dressed in black, wearing a long black coat trimmed in red with no shirt beneath it, instead there are two black belts crossing on his firm chest with black pants tucked in from the knee down in his black boots, and black gloves. He has basically the same skin colour as the elvan woman, cream-and-peach, but has long, waist length, silver hair cascading down his back and acid green eyes. She glares at him relentlessly with her grey-blue eyes as he refuses to pay.
“I don’t care who you are or who you think you are! I wouldn’t even care of you were the new king! It’s two million munny for the repairs on the sword or I’m not doing a thing!” She snaps viciously.
“Learn to hold your tongue woman….” He says calmly with a cold glare which sends chills down her spine, but she holds it in, holding her ground, unfazed.
“Two mills or no repairs…. “She repeats firmly, matching his glare. There is a long moment of silence before anything happens.
“Hnh…you are different from the others…interesting…here’s your munny….” He says carelessly as he tosses a small sack on to the counter. “I’ll forgive you this time, and it better be worth the pay. I’ll be back in two days….” She happily takes the pay as he vanishes into thin air. She sighs in annoyance as she lifts the sword and its fragments.
[I’m going to need more than two days for this sword! I swear, next time, I’m going to charge him double!!] She thinks as she heads to the back of her store.
The world vanishes and Terry slowly gets up, her head spinning as sweat trickles down her forehead. He walks to a basin that is filled continuously by a spring. She drinks some of the water, the black cloth still around her eyes. Though her eyes are covered, she can see clearly, as if nothing is covering her eyes. She sighs, placing her fore and middle finger to her forehead, concentrating on the lanterns light that hangs above.
“Blizzard….” She whispers as she points to the lantern above. The fire is extinguished and darkness fills the cavern as she heads towards the other lantern and her bag, leaving with everything she came with.
