“Finally, school is over!!” Sora shouts as he exits the building. It has been a month since Riku’s and Sora’s return and everything is normal, just as it should be. The trio along with Selphie, Wakka, and Tidus; head down to the hangout island to relax. Terry, on the other hand, left before anyone could ask her to join, just like always.
“Man Riku, how do get all of the girls all over you?” Tidus asks, leaning against the ledge by the small spring.
“Ya man, how do you do it?” Wakka asks while balancing his blitz-ball on his head.
“I don’t do anything, they just come. It gets really annoying sometimes though.” He shrugs carelessly.
“Well do you have an eye on any of ‘em?” Tidus asks slyly.
“Yeah, do ya?” Wakka stops bouncing his ball to listen.
“What are you two blubbering about?” He sighs. “I barely can tell one girl from another in that crowd!”
“That stinks…well at least you’ll never be dateless ya?”
“Yeah, Wakka has a point there!”
“You guys are as brainless as ever.” Riku mutters.
“Hey, take that back!” Tidus glares.
“Make me….” Riku smirks.
“Those be fighting words ya?” Wakka smirks. The girls grab their weapons from the seaside shack and give toss them over. Tidus holds a staff, Riku a practice sword, and Wakka his blitz-ball.
“C’mon, I’ll take you both on!” Riku makes a “bring it” motion with his hand.
“Your loss, lets get ‘em Wakka!” Tidus lunges at him, ready to strike as Wakka throws his ball. Riku easily dodges the ball and it smashes Tidus in the face.
“Just like old times.” Kairi sighs contently as Sora pouts for not being included in the mindless brawl.
“Exactly like old times!” Selphie giggles. “Man it’s been forever since any of us had a play fight!”
“That all you guys got?” Tidus smirks and knocks Riku off balance. Riku falls back and catches himself. Tidus goes in for the kill but is kicked hard in the abdomen by Riku’s lethal kangaroo kick. Tidus goes flying into Wakka as Riku dusts himself off. “C’mon, don’t tell me you guys are giving up all ready?” he taunts.
“Never!” Tidus and Wakka try a few strategic ways but all of them fail and they end up piled on top of each other.
“Damn that hurt!” Tidus groans, holding his head. “How the hell are you always so good?”
“That was the whooping of a life time ya?” Wakka grins and winces in pain. “But, damn, when did you have the time to practice?”
“Now that’s a secret I can tell.” Riku smirks and heads to put his practice sword away when he turns, parrying someone’s attack. “Nice try.” The others gasp in utter shock, seeing that Terry appeared out of no where.
“Worth a shot….” She smirks, and steps back, reforming her fighting stance. “But now its time to really play….”
“Bring it….” He smirks, getting into his fighting stance.
“Gladly….” The second battle commences.
“Where the hell did she come from…!?” Tidus and Wakka sit stunned. “She freakin’ appeared out of thin air!”
“Go Riku, you can do it!” Selphie cheers. Kairi giggles and roots for both of them while Sora coaches from the sidelines.
“C’mon Riku, anyone could’ve easily dodged that! Ugh, Terry, that was such a stupid move!” he paces back and forth.
“Shut up Sora!” The two of them yell, clearly annoyed by his constant coaching. Sora scowls and glares, but gets wrapped up in the fight once again. Terry knocks Riku down and is about to strike when he pulls of his signature kangaroo kick and send her flying. She slowly stands, coughing a bit, she wipes what little blood that comes out before anyone can see and assumes her fighting position. She smirks, still ready to fight. Riku smirks and reestablishes his guard.
[Hmm so he kicks eh?] The fight continues on. She knocks him over again and she charges at him once again. She sees him prepare to kick again. “Not this time!” He lunches his kick and she moves aside, changes her stance quickly, and strikes him on his side, sending him to the ground.
“Heh…not bad, but it’s still not over yet.” They charge at each other again.
“Having fun…?” Riku asks. Terry just smirks but soon her eyes turn yellow and a dazed expression covers her face. Riku sees an opening and smirks. “Because it’s about to end…!” He strikes and she effortlessly dodges the attack and performs an Omni-slash.
“How did you-?” Riku says stunned, but is cut off by an assault by Terry.
“My little secret….” Her dazed expression fades away and she dodges his moves as if se all ready knows them all. They continue to battle rigourously for a long time. Terry stops her sword at the left side of his throat while Riku is at the right side of her throat.
“A stale mate…!?” They all say simultaneously while Riku and Terry just stare at each other, panting and sweating profusely. Terry is the first to withdraw her weapon and smirks.
“That was fun….” She turns and leaves the stunned group while wiping some blood from the corner of her mouth. They all watch her fleeting figure, mouths agape while Riku glares at her back.
[Her style kept changing but it all flowed do smoothly. Especially when she parried my kick…. And that one attack….]
“Man, who knew she could fight!?” Tidus exclaims, still a bit shocked.
“Great job Riku!” Selphie praises.
“That was amazing ya!”
“You guys were all over the place!” Kairi adds.
“Yeah…hey Sora, you recognize any of her moves?” Sora nods. [Thought so….] Riku sits down to rest for a bit and Kairi hands him some water and a towel.
“Terry never told me she could fight. Either way, she was still no match for you.” Kairi says, sitting besides Sora.
“Is anyone a match for him!?” Tidus scowls “My score is zero to twelve.”
“Mine’s the same, ya.” Wakka admits shamefully.
“I’m a match for him…well, sometimes! My score is five to seven!” Sora beams proudly. They scowl at Sora and the girls giggle. They rest for a while and talk about old times hanging out as kids.
Terry stands in her bathroom, looking at the reflection of the large and swollen bruise on her torso.
[Damn he kicks hard!] She cringes as her fingers lightly brush the surface. [I could cure it…but no here knows magic except for them, and they don’t know that I know magic…damn this stinks!] She hisses in pain as she applies ointment to her injuries and wraps them. When done, the stuff all stashed away under her sink, she rolls out her futon on the floor of her bedroom and carefully lies down, making sure not stretch anything swollen as much as possible, and goes to sleep, tired from the fight.
