i haven't updated in FOREVER and i apologize but i've been having major major major computer problems and i haven't been able to do much of anything lately but now it's a tad bit bettah and i can put more crap up here so enjoy page 33!

“Elizabeth was the only one taking care of me. My dad ran off on us and my mom died giving birth to me. So Elizabeth just kind of took over. After she died I ran into Nicolas.”
“I’ve been lookin’ after this kid for a while now.” Nicolas smiled at Zack. Zack avoided Nicolas’s stare. He remembered all too well the night he lost his sister. Zack looked down at his hands as he thought back to two years ago, when he was ten years old.
“Zack, would you like some more peas?” Elizabeth stood up from the dinner table and walked over to a pot on the stove.
“Yes I love peas!” Zack said, bouncing up and down in his seat.
“I know you do.” Elizabeth laughed as she refilled Zack’s plate with peas. At that moment, there was a loud knocking on the front door.
“Who is that?” Zack asked.
“I’m not sure.” Elizabeth got up from the table and walked into the living room, Zack close behind. She looked out the window and saw a man in all black dressed like a soldier. Behind him there were two others identical to the first. They all stood as stiff as a board with their hands clasped behind their backs, their faces held a look of complete seriousness. Elizabeth hesitantly opened the door.
“Can I help you with something?” She asked, not daring to open the door more than a crack big enough for half of her face.
“We have been informed that you have one son, is this correct?” The first man asked in a deep voice.
“Actually, he’s my little brother but—”
“Are you his guardian?”
“Yes.” Elizabeth moved Zack behind her with one hand, trying to keep him out of the man’s sight.
“Are you aware that the queen has passed a law that any boy age ten and over is to be trained for her army?”
“You’ve got to be kidding me!”
“I don’t make jokes ma’am.” The man sounded a bit irritated.
“But that’s crazy! He’s so young; he’s not old enough to train to be in an army! And even if he was I wouldn’t allow it, I don’t want him near any danger! I’m sorry but I won’t let him go.” Elizabeth tried to shut the door, but the man stuck out his foot and prevented the door from moving.
“Ma’am you are not at liberty to decide whether your brother may or may not be trained. It is the queen’s law and it must be obeyed. We have come to take him.”
“I said no! I don’t care what the queen says; I will not let him join the army!” Elizabeth threw herself against the door and it slammed shut. She whipped her hand over the doorknob and it locked itself.
“Elizabeth what are they talking about?” Zack asked with a worried expression.
“Don’t worry about that right now, we’ve got to go.” Elizabeth rushed to the hall closet and grabbed their coats.
i'm up to 62 pages now but im kinda stuck again...but that's ok ya no why? cuz i got tons of freakin ideas that are swimming around in my mind yelling "HURRY UP AND WRITE ME DOWN BENCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!" rolleyes
