The town isn’t exactly welcoming but it’s a big enough city that she and the Doc can blend in well enough.
She has also become of use to the law enforcement agents and something of an amateur detective, though only in cases involving her co-workers or patients directly.
Ellie has no problems using the abilities of her children’s guardians to solve a crime or track down a perp as their abilities are far more varied then her own or Doc Reiche’s. It depends on who is most appropriate for the job.

It took the Law some time to take her seriously and even longer before they’d stop harassing her for having Dhampir children. (It also took quite a bit for her to restrain the mutants who would have cheerfully turned those harassing them into food stock.)

She’s been infected by the Counts bite but her innate healing abilities are keeping it in check.

The law doesn’t like her very much but they eventually learn to trust her hunches and instincts and she has a nose for foul play. After she managed to track and catch criminals a few dozen times they got the hint and begin listening. When she is working with them the case is generally solved and quickly. Also, she is NOT open to ‘deals’ etc though the underground elements might wish she were. She is very dangerous to them but only moves when something they do touches her co-workers, patients’ etc. Basically if they leave her alone she has no interest in them.
