Hey I wrote a new first chapter of my dream story
I tried to make the dream shorter and focus on Dominic's power
So here it is
What I have so far



As I Stand Before God





I open my eyes to an hollow world. The streets that surround me are empty, no cars, no people, no life. Only streets and buildings of steel and concrete remain. I find myself standing in the middle of an intersection. I look up to the sky Above me hangs a grand spiral of white clouds that encircle my position. The clouds are also spread out over the rest of the open sky. I cannot tell if it’s dark or light as a eerie glow shines on everything with a grey tint. The clouds feel like an omen, a sign that something had been erased.

I hear the faint whistle of wind, but it grows as time passes.

My sight returns in front of me, I now notice something further down the street. I focus my eyes to see that it‘s a white cross. The black that outlines it’s shape is moving. Even though I’m scared, I want to see what it is. I feel as something is pulling me toward it.

I take a step, but then halt. I hear a small noise, it sounds like a musical note. I see a pulse originate from the white cross. A low humming noise then follows, breaking the oath of silence the world has taken. It bends the buildings as it comes to me. It speeds up and passes through me and I feel as if my heart skips a beat.

A thin black line forms a few feet in front of me. It’s growth is slow, but certain. It reaches a few feet high then suddenly opens up to form a perfect, large circle. Fear starts to take over me. My heart begins to beat faster and my thoughts become wild and uncontained. I wonder what I’m doing here. It seems as the cross summoned this hole of nothingness, as if God himself is passing judgment on me. Maybe I’m not too far from reality.

The low hum suddenly stops, but my heart still beats to a heightened tempo. I see something white make it’s way out of the circle. A dull white, elongated arm reaches out from the void and grabs the edges of the circle. I see that the fingers are flat at the top, unlike a human‘s. Not before long, another arm reaches out, grabbing the other side of the opening. I cannot see anything else, but I know something else is coming. The hands tear the hole until it becomes as large as the cross. A white mask becomes visible. The only openings in the entire thing are the two eye holes, revealing two small blue-grayish eyes. A single red line runs down the mask over the left eye.

It steps out of the circle with echoing movement. It finally steps out from the other side. Behind it, the hole closes shut. I can finally see the masked being. It’s a vaguely human shape, but constantly hunched over. It’s long tail sways back and forth.

An abstract though comes into my mind. If the cross that is now obstructed, is supposed to be God, does that mean the white being is an angel? Last I checked, angels didn’t look freighting and menacing like this monstrosity does.

Before I know it, the being’s eyes narrowed in on me. It cocks its arm back, ready to strike me. I try to move my legs, but they are frozen in fear. It’s piercing eyes has trapped me in my own body. Am I really going to die like this? Death by God attack?

It throws it’s arm at me, it is quick and frightening. Time seems to slow down, this gives me time to have some last thoughts. I spend it praying to God. I hope he can hear me. I pray that my death is for some divine reason, for the greater good.

To my surprise, the hand violently rebounds when it reaches me. I find that I am shielded by a constant flow of wind. The cold fear that fills my heart melts as the wind protects me. The soothing sound of the wind is music to my ears.

The force of the blow is parried, I can see the surprise in the eyes of the being. As it’s eyes open up, the wind that protected me is now circling around my arm.
