Following Grandpa Matt down the long hallway of the compound, Daniel kept quiet as he took in the plain surroundings. The walls the two were walking down were such a pure white; it was almost hurtful to his eyes after being in such a dark environment not moments earlier. However, not too long after leaving the interrogation room, two glass doors slid open in a way Daniel had only seen before in sci-fi movies. Inside this new room, was a large office which had very large windows toward the far wall that overlooked an even larger area about half the size of a football field. Upon walking over to the windows, Daniel saw many workers below at the many desks that accompanied the area. This area also had many computer screens showing off random pieces of information that was foreign to Daniel’s eyes. As he continued to watch the area below in awe, Grandpa Matt turned to him and said, “Daniel…welcome to The Resistance…”

“The Resistance? Is that the best name you could come up with?” Daniel asked in a sarcastic tone. “Well…if you want to get technical with it...” Grandpa Matt snapped back, “Our actual name is the D.R.F. or the Dimensional Resistance Force. However, since no one else wants to deal with Omega’s tyrannical rule, people usually just stick to ‘The Resistance’.”

“I see…so The Omega Organization really did take over the world…just like you said they would,” Daniel said in a grim tone. “You mean The Omega Syndicate.” Grandpa Matt replied back, “…and what do you mean I said they would take over the world? This is the first time we’ve ever spoken to each other.” Looking back at Grandpa Matt in a confused look, Daniel responded with, “Wait…what? I just talked to you a few hours ago. You know, back in the bomb shelter, those Omega guys raided your lab!” Quickly responding back, Grandpa Matt said, “Oh…I was wondering what you meant by that after you said that back in the interrogation room. You must be thinking about the Grandpa Matt from YOUR dimension.” Now scratching his head trying to make sense of the situation, Daniel finally said, “So wait…you’re my Grandfather’s pen pal?” With a simple nod, Grandpa Matt said, “You got it kid.”

Now rubbing the bridge of his nose and squinting his eyes, Daniel gave his “other dimension” grandfather a most troubled look. Without another thought, Grandpa Matt said, “I’m guessing you have a lot of questions you want to ask me, so I’ll just try to explain as much as I can.” With that said, Daniel could only respond with a simple, “Ok.” Pressing a button on his desk, Grandpa Matt spoke into an intercom and asked, “Excuse me, could we get something to drink in here………mhmm………yes, tea, thank you.” Then turning his attention toward Daniel once again, he said, “Sorry about that, this might take a while and I thought we could use something to drink. Do you like tea? Nevermind, of course you do. It’ll be here in a few minutes.” Grandpa Matt said without a chance for Daniel to answer. “Anyway, let’s begin shall we. Have a seat.”

“As you may have guessed by now, you have indeed been transported into a parallel dimension. However, unlike your original dimension, this one has some key differences. For one thing, until a few hours ago, you didn’t even exist here…it’s something I’ve yet to comprehend. The other factor is that Omega has had a major influence in this dimension for over a decade while yours was only in the beginning phases of what we have been enduring for so long. The unique quality about parallel dimensions is that a single event that takes place within the two has a different outcome. However, with the data your grandfather has sent us over the past couple of years, we’re getting very close to figuring out what that difference is. Once we do, it will be a major breakthrough in cutting off Omega’s stranglehold in this dimension.” Then turning his attention toward the office door as a young girl entered, she said in a soft tone, “Your tea sir.”

The moment the girl had said those words, Daniel spun around in his chair and couldn’t believe who he saw. That soft, shy voice…short brown hair…it was none other than his childhood friend. “Rachel! What are you doing here?!” Daniel yelled out in surprise. Scaring her half to death, Rachel nearly dropped the platter of tea cups, but she was able to catch herself from falling and blushed a deep red out of embarrassment. “Umm…d-do I k-know you?” she asked. Sighing in disappointment, hoping that it was the Rachel that knew him, he said, “Here we go again…”



-Meanwhile within The Omega Syndicate-

Agent R is seen sitting in front of a large computer screen which is scanning the entire Milky Way for our protagonist. Speaking in a most devious voice, he said, “Found him…he’s on Earth, Dimension #298475.” Then spinning his chair around and addressing a few Omega Troopers standing at attention, “Listen well warriors of Omega, you are to go to the coordinates given to you and search for this boy.” At this time, a picture of Daniel appeared on the large screen in front of the small army of troopers. “Yes Sir!” The troopers said in unison as they prepped themselves to make the dive. Speaking again before the troopers depart, Agent R said, “When you find him, report back to me, DO NOT make contact with the target. Now then…” With the flick of his cloak, Agent R held out his right hand to reveal a watch which looked very similar to the one affixed on Daniel’s arm. Spinning the gears on the watch into position, the watch glowed with a crimson red hue. “Dimension Gate…Open…” With a beam of red light shooting out of the watch on Agent R’s wrist, it eventually hit the far wall and opened up a pool of red liquid in which the troopers immediately ran into and instantly disappeared.

Now that he was alone, Agent R spoke to himself while looking at Daniel’s picture on the big screen. “There’s not enough room in the universe for another Diver. When my troopers find you…I’ll kill you personally…” Afterwards, he uttered a most evil laugh befitting such a villain, “Hehehehe…hahahahaha….HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!”
