Lynx's journal (if he were to have kept one)
This journal logs the day to day events of Lynx's life after the fall of Norlias. He was released from his service as guardian of the royal family of Norlias prior to its demise.
Lynx's Memories: Wartime in Norlias Part I
Gotta make this one two parts, its kinda long.

During the rule of King Heramont

I heard the king's call so i rushed quickly from my post to his side. I took my place behind the thone and knocked twice upon it. "Leave me." the king says to his military generals. Theywere just in to report on the events outside the castle walls. the enemy had broken through the outer gate and have flooded into the town. The Norlian army was out in the town fighting to drive them out but to no avail. Even though our weapons and armor are superior to these barbarians, their vast numbers tilt the battle in their favor. These "wild" men from the north are rather interesting. "Wild men"... I heard the king call them that. They are quite proud of the huge tribe they have and conduct themselves well. Unlike Norlians, these wild men treat their women as equals. The women fight along side the men. I suppose then, the children are all left alone with the elders of the village...that would make their village very vulnerable to attack. Not as smart as I thought perhaps. The king took a deep breath. "Stand before me, Lynx." I obey, kneeling before my king. He rose from his throne. "I bid thee stand.", he said plainly. When I rose to my feet he approached me and put his hand on my shoulder. "Ready yourself for combat Even out the numbers. Drive them out of my city!" I bow as I say, "Yes my lord." With that, I rushed to my chambers which is located in a tower at the back of the castle. This tower is not connected to the castle and there are no doors. Only three windows near the top for me to get in and out of. Once inside, I pull to the center of the room a large green chest. Sitting upon a table in my room is a small sphere about three and a half inches across. This sphere has many lines and engravings and is the same green color as the chest. The chest is locked yet it has no key hole. The sphere is the key. On the chest where a lock would normally be, is an indented shape. It is shaped with three curved points. The sphere is made up of many movable parts and when moved around correctly, it will form a shape to match the indentation on the chest. Its a puzzle key if you will. I manuipulated into the key form and placed it in the indented shape. When the key is placed in the indented shape, it pushes at some mechanisms to unlock the rest of the locking mechanisms so this chest cannot be unlocked by any other means. The mechanisms is based on an octagonal dial that is turned a certain number of notches to the right, then left passing the first notch before moving to the correct notch, then to the right again to another notch, and afterwards pushing the key in further to unlock the chest. After turning the locks correctly, I quickly opened the chest and began taking out items. Within my chest are various important items to me. Among these are my battle gear and my sword. My sword that was presented to me by the fourth king of Norlias. Its as light as a feather but as sharp and durable as a dragon's claw. My cloak is also very durable and a dark green color to blend in with the forest. It did not take long for me to put on my plate armor. Once ready, I left the tower and made my way to the front of the castle. I had to be careful when leaping across the castle, I am not as nimble with my armor on. I lept from the front castle gate into the midst of combat. My landing throws my hood forward, covering my face. My sword is in a scabbard fastened around my waist horizontally placed behind my on my lower back. I chuckled at some of the barbarians who are intimidated by my arrival. The weight of my armor coupled with the height of my descent caused a crater to form beneath my feet. I extend my claws, take my battle stance, and ready myself. Many of the barbarian warriors were hesitant to attack me or were busy fighting someone else. Some began to form a circle around me and cautiously awaited my forst move. I slowly turned around, trying to keep all I can in view. I sniffed and strangely found the scent of mead and ale to be just as strong as the smell of the blood and sweat of warriors. These "wild men" must have had an eve of battle celebration yesternight.
