Yesterday was somewhat normal. I got yelled at a bit by my manager for a few small things, but I wasn't all surprised.
Two small girls came into the store, and each grabbed one item. Their parents were in the shop next door. And as they noticed their parents hadn't followed them into the candy store, they ran out, with the candy they had grabbed. I caught one girl and candy before she could step too far beyond the store. The other one, I chased to the doors of the next store. I retrieved the candy and went back to my own store, puting the candy away.
Under normal situations, the parent would just yell at the kid for taking the candy and just go about shopping. This time (thank goodness for those smart parents), they came back into the store, and told the daughters to say sorry. It's this kind of disipline I like to see. In the end, the parents still bought candy.
And as our corp. office's stupid order, we've put out a sample try by the registers. Problem #1, There's no room for it, we have to place it infront of one of the registers itself. #2, People just want free candy. "Can I have a sample?" Do you intend on buying candy? No? Then scram! You get nothing from us! #3, Dispite the mini tongs, people still use their fingers! Grrr! scream And kids, you DON'T PUT THE TONGS IN YOUR MOUTH!!!!!!!!!! stressed That is GROSS!!! Just WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!? You use the tongs to grab the candy, put the candy in your hand and the tongs DOWN ON THE PLATE, with NO SLOBBER! stressed scream Arg!
And if you've read one of Masked-Moon's latest entrys, I kind of pissed her off. sweatdrop As Assistant Manager, with keys to the store, I have the...honor, of closing paperwork. As I was counting out one of the register's deposits, I found it was exactly $20 short. I went to the front of the store, and looked around the register....no $20...I retraced my steps, looking at the floor...no $20. I finally lifted my head a bit, as I got back to where I had been counting the money, and sure enough...there was the missing $20! rofl I had been sitting on it the whole time... rofl Boy was Masked-Moon pist! xp Heh, But I still got a good laugh at it, dispite the risk to both of our jobs... sweatdrop

roar scream I'd love to get her behind the register and watch her squirm with all the customers for a week straight, though i think she'd enjoy scaring the kids so much that she'll actually smile burning_eyes that would be scary rofl
