As we expected, our candy order came today. Also no big surprise, our chocolates were melted. I can safely say NO ONE associated with our store was happy. Be they customers, or employees.

What's sad is that I've seen so many little kids digging their grubby little fingers through our bulk candy, that even when I go to stop them, while the parents seem surprised, I'm not. Not in the least bit. Like my co-worker and fellow Gaian Masked-Moon, whom is also doing a candy journal, we applaude those parents who keep a short leash on their kids, or keep them in a stroller (for those young enough) well away from candy. However, with those parents lacking in sense to watch 'un-leashed' children, I seriously wish they would keep a sharp eye on them.

While most little kids are told 'Don't put your hands in there', or 'Dont' touch', kids either don't listen, while they are destracted by what they want, or they don't understand, or, it just goes in one ear, and out the other. No matter how many times they're yelled at, or have their hands slapped by their parents...They. Don't. Listen. They are too young to keep it in their minds while they are distracted by candy. They want candy, and they want it right that second. I've noticed that that's the way they think. They don't seem to get that you have to PAY for the candy first. They just eat it since usually they are used to being allowed to eat candy right after it's given to them. In this store, they may hold the bags, but they cannot eat, especially if it's not payed for. It doesn't matter if it's one piece or ten, THEY CANNOT EAT CANDY PRIOR TO PAYING FOR IT! There is no ifs, ands, or buts about it. Eating candy that hasn't been payed for is STEALING! If a parent says 'I'll pay for the candy', well of coarse you're going to pay for it! That's the point of BUYING candy. But don't they get that even one piece of candy pre-eaten is still MONEY eaten. Even if it's a few measly cents. Candy must never be eaten before it's payed for. Never.
