Shreeder's Lifestyle Here and Afar
This journal is my life, which is very crazy, and currently in Japan!
Where did the time go? Oh, in my tequila.
Well, life has gotten so much more interesting that I haven't even had the time to write in this journal. Sadly, I have forgotten so much of the juicy details and I really still dont have the time to jot everything down, so I'm gonna have to summarize a lot.

So, for the past week, here are really cool things that have happened (trust me, when I say really cool, I mean really really damn cool):

Job-wise: After translating for the boxer, I had a "Tom Mission" day. Mission one was to learn and play the Shamisen live on the radio, and then I zipped back to the news studio for Mission:Two- explaining my dad's Pasta Salad recipe live on the radio. Next, I jump in a taxi and head to a store that sells fishing equipment. The reason I went there is because I bought a cool designer shirt that has an advertisement to this store on it (I couldnt read the kanji!) lol, anyway, I got the tape of the whole day and I got some amazing handcrafted fishing lures to match my shirt.

Well, I am in the News department now, and I made my television debut with a report on the new Impressionist exhibit at the local art museum. That took me by surprise because I thought I was gonna enter tv with my voice only, so I wore regular clothes and didnt wear jewelry or do my hair. Great. Also, I have a sty in my eye which is lovely. hahah Tomorrow I am planning to go to a high school baseball game to report live on the scene. Wish me luck!

But, these cool things come with a price. Now that I am in the news department, my hours got extended to the point where I am pretty much working 11 hours a day, which is quite quite long, and I would rather be dancing or, you know, eating food.

Speaking of food and dancing: I went to my favorite Ramen place again, and the guy (who remembered me from last year) gave me a free shirt of the ramen store to remember him by, and its fantastic. That night I went to the dance studio and did lock class with Tammi and Tomo, and afterwards Master Tribe started to show up to practice, so I threw on my Ramen shirt and went clubbing with Tammi and Tomo at Manier. If I didnt mention Manier before, its a fantastic club where they have dance shows and singers, and inbetween you just dance away with your friends (never EVER get in a dance battle with your teacher, he will always win). So yeah, my best memory of that night was telling Tomo I didnt wanna club, so when Tammi walked by and said "going to Manier!" I was like "Oh! Me too!" Tomo thought that was hilarious.

What can I say, I have a soft spot for hip hop dancing, highly attractive, fashionable, Japanese women. Named Tammi. Actually, just her.

So, Saturday, yikes. I met up with a Wellesley student named Andrea and we watched a Noh play (which my cell phone went off in. Smooth), and it was so damn boring, that we went to Banana Chips (Tecchan x2 was not there!) and we drank the night away with tequila shots and lots of drinky drinks. The tequila shots were fantastic by the way, because Tecchan would play "Tequila!" whenever we took shots.

So yeah, after that it was an odd Electronica night at Manier, followed by the bar Apres, where I met another American, some dude I saw in a store once (small world), and a British literature teacher at Kanazawa University, and we sat there and talked about the bad aspects of Japanese school systems and ways of academic thought.

Also, I had an American style cheese burger. Holy crap guys, you have no idea how good it is to have one after 2 months of no cheese or good meat. No idea.

Okay, so, that was a phenominal night (I got back when it was light out), and the next day, me and my host stay sister Satoko went and looked at digital cameras together, and I actually got the guts to buy one! (its greeaaat!) but it means that my money is seriously low and I need to kinda keep carefull.... Also, Satoko bounced to Osaka to live there from now on, and I wish her the best of luck!

Should I tighten my belt on my spending?....

Japan accepts American Express, right?

I'll be fiiiine.

What else is cool.... well I got an appointment to talk with a member of the Japanese government for a potential job in the future... and the main thing right now is pretty much the Digital camera and the sty in my eye. lol Tomorrow I have to apply warm compresses and stuff and I also plan on wearing sunglasses from now own hahah. Nothing like trying to impress people on TV with a giant right eyeball. Cool.

So yeah, have a 9-7 shift tomorrow followed by break dancing class with Fumi sensei. Penny should be there and I have a lot of pictures to take on my new camera.

OH! I took the wrong bus today and got the crazy bus driver with the insane voice (this is a mental note to myself). Its this lady... who has this ridiculous voice... lol I cant describe it, sorry people. Just know that the second I heard this lady, I laughed outloud on a Japanese bus, which isnt that accepted. hahahah

Till the next entry! Almost done with the program, but trust me, the good times will not stop until I land back in JFK Airport, and then, its time to go retarded in NYC
