• I once took a walk through the snow
No one stopped to notice, busy with places to go
Death amongst the plants and trees
Crystal figures dangled from branches, the new leaves
    There was beauty here
    There was destruction there
The jingling of bells sounded from all the bustling
The late blooming shoppers quickly hustling
    Presents are bought
    Items are sold
Materialistic worth is paid in gold
It was sad to watch them run
Never did they stop to see the fun
    Santa would come
    The reindeer will follow
    The naivity of a child
    Or a Christmas miracle.
The miracle is they can see
    The crystals in the tree
    The crystals flying 'round
    Santa on the roof
    In the chimney, climbing down
The naviety will be left alone
The innocence will fade from them, like the crystal leaves
At least for now they know the worth of crystals in a Christmas tree.
