• Luna City was quiet. A little too quiet. The starry night sky was filled with stars, empty of the moon due to it being a New Moon. No one was out except for the occasional policeman on duty. Lights were quickly shutting off in most homes, save for a few. Shops were closing and chimneys were slowly dying.

It was almost nine o'clock at night.

"Um. . .I have a question," Alex began, eyes closed and brows twitching in some kind of obvious anger. He opened one eye to, once more, look at his surroundings; not much. He and Shin had arrived, intent on visiting his twin brother, Adrian, and his mother. They were in a hotel room right now. Alex was currently trapped to the wall by a full-body shield of ice that denied him any movement for heat.

"Why the hell am I stuck to the wall like this?!"

Alex glared rather angrily at the two in front of him. Shin had Keiune shouldered right now. Lovely, right? And Adrian was holding the hilt of his - Alex's - sword. The same, exact sword that came from his pendant, that only worked for him.

Yes, this confused him as well.

"Why do I always get in these messes?" Alex asked himself, head drooped as he sighed and just accepted fate. Though at this rate, he'd probably die of hypothermia faster than these two idiots settled their little, ehm. . .what was it? Disagreement over who got to keep him?

Since when was he - Alex - an item? The boy who had fought for over three years against a millennium-old demon and won was now currently frozen to the wall in a lovely little. . .protective case? He supposed. . .maybe this was Shin's way of being. . .weird.

Yes. Weird worked right now. And Adrian was an idiot for actually going along with this.

"Let him go!" Adrian demanded, hands shaking. That sword. . .was extremely light, but it was still a weapon of mass destruction. He obviously didn't want to have to use it. "He can do what he wants!"

"And by that you mean you're going to take him back to your mother and somehow force him to stay here?" Shin retorted, the hand holding his scythe twitching. "Nu-uh. Not gonna let you."

    "Maybe he wants to stay!"

    "Maybe he doesn't!"

"Can I please just leave?" Alex sighed.

"NO!" the two fighting said fiercely, and the trapped boy sweat dropped.

"I'm starting to hate you both so much right now. . ."

"Come on," Shin said, smirking a little bit. "If Lex wanted to come back, he would have."

"But he did, didn't he? He's right here right now!" Adrian shot back, gripping the sword in his hands more firmly.

"Well, yeah, but only on a business trip."

Suddenly, a rather evil cackle echoed in the room, and both fighters paused in their argument and glanced around. to locate the source. Alex had gone completely stiff, Adrian was shaking somewhat, and Shin let out a curse; they all recognized that voice, apparently.

"While you two are bickering," the voice said, and a certain brown-haired, red-eyed neko appeared on the ice, squatting there on a large piece next to Alex, "I'm going to snatch my prize~!"

"How in hell's name did you even find us?" Alex asked, somewhat shocked.

"You're not exactly the hardest person to find, you know," the neko said, ears twitching and tail swishing back and forth every-so-often. "You've really got to learn how to hide your aura."

    ". . .I think you're just a stalker. . ."

    "H-How rude!"

"Hey, Gaki?" Shin said, he and Adrian looking towards the mentioned neko. "Not that we don't want you here and all - which, really, we don't - but care to scram? You're interrupting."

"Aaw. But I wanna stay," the neko boy whined, then snickered as he stood up and jumped down to the floor, then placed a clawed finger to the ice at the top of where it trapped Alex. Said angel eyed him carefully, a little scared by the malicious look in Gaki's eyes. Next second, the ice had cracked away, and the neko was looking rather smug and proud while Alex collapsed to his knees.

"Ah, damn. . .I can't feel my body at all," Alex muttered, shivering a little violently while he rubbed his hands together to generate some sort of heat.

"Tsk, tsk. How could you do that?" Gaki said, mocking sadness and pity as he knelt by Alex's side, undoing the cloak around his shoulders and putting it over the angel. "Don't you know it's bad luck to try and freeze an angel to death?"

"You can't just do that!" Shin exclaimed, somewhat shocked at how easily the ice was broken.

    "Can and did."

"Let go of my brother!" Adrian snapped, a rather out-of-character thing for him.

Gaki only stuck his tongue out at the two boys, rubbed one of his own hands up and down Alex's arm to help warm up the poor boy. With his other hand, he traced a path up to the angel's jaw, gently lifting his head up until he was looking into golden eyes. Then he smiled and stole a kiss from Alex.

Shin and Adrian both made yells of protests and Alex stiffened completely while Gaki only thoroughly enjoyed it. The neko broke away, smirking before poking the tip of Alex's nose.

"Keep thinking about that, and you're bound to warm up in no time," the neko said pleasantly, snickering when the angel turned a bright red.
