"You gotta work on your aim," he said cheekily.
"What aim?" i laughed.
When i looked over at my target it was just a smoking black hole on a gray backdrop. My hand was still buzzing with the electrical current. like pins and needles only finner.
The sun was on its last feet towards the horizon. Soon the skies would be black and the only safety was hidden in the town houses.
No-body really knew what happened at night or why.All we knew was that if you go out your never found alive.
"C'mon, lets get home before sundown." Kyle wrapped is arm around my shoulder and we walked off home in the light of the dying sun.
"Cam, Cameron!" YOU D**K WAKE UP!" some-one whispered harshly in my ear.
I waved my arms in the air trying to fend off the agitated whisperer- in my sleep.
"What?" I winded.
They pulled my arm and dragged me forcefully down the hallway. Eventually the carpet burn woke me up and it was my brother, Kyle, at my side. He was starring out the window into the darkness.
I rubbed my eyes, "What are you doing?"
He waved me over with a shush.
"What?"
"Shut up. Look out there," he pointed to the over road dairy,"You seeing that?"
I peered though the darkness. With the lack of street lights it was hard to see anything but what i saw freaked me.
"Are they-"
"Clouds? Monsters? Zombies? I don't know what they are!"
Big wispy creatures floated around the windows. Some trying to head-butt the glass others hovering over the pavements. It was like a big large white cloud had targeted the store. From the looks of it they had faces but it was too hard to tell.
Kyle walked over the computer where a browser was open.
He sat down, "I looked up the legends of the dark city,"
"Yeah?" I walked over to the computer too.
"This legend suggests that the city was infected by a disease. Another says a poisonous gas that's stimulated by sun-light. But this one," he pulled down to the information on the last legend.
I read every letter, word and sentence carefully.
"Ghosts?"
-----------------
"Yeah. Feirce creatures," he chuckled.
I furrowed my brow. What was he laughing at exactly?
"Want to see some pictures?"
"NO!" I screemed, still at a slight whisper. I cringed away from the screen back to the window.
I heard Kyle creep up behind me and observe the strange creatures as well.
"What do you think they want?" i asked, "are they hungry? Should i feed them?"
"What are you crazy?! You should see these pictures of those who were found- DEAD!" He was right. God only knew what they were capable of.
We obsered the figureless white creatures for quite a while.
At times i was sure a few of them had long, wolf like noses pointed high into the night sky sniffing out what ever horrible stench they could. I wondered how we sat a starred at them for over an hour but none of them had noticed us with the louge room light on full blast and the window letting enough light flow out to catch attention.
Frequently we jumped in fright as more and more hovered in towards the store flying past us at enormous speed. It was as if they were substituting. Twenty or more ghastly creatures fled and another tweenty subbed in their place. But no many how many times they carried out this proceedure they had gained no luck in succeding in their task. That task, i was unsure of...
-----------------
I woke up gasping for air, sweat dripping from my forhead. Everything came back to me- What a night.
"Cam?" My mother called, her sweet voice drifted to my ears.
I groaned and made an effort to get up.
Feet to the cold wooden floor. Open the curtans and into the kitchen for another day.
"Good sleep?" Mum asked as i entered into the kitchen.
The kitchen was cool, mild blues and navy's lined the interior walls. Kyle was sitting at the bar counter with his bowl of cereal infront of him and what looked like a reserch book.
Could have something to do with last nights encounter.
"Not the best sleep." I replied. My brother eyed me with a mechevious smile.
"Here's your breakfast." She handed me a plate with her homemade pikelets and two of her famous, family favourite pancakes. "and here's the sugar." she added.
I chuckled. Mum knew me well.
Kyle made faces as he read his book. I glanced over my shoulder to see what he was reading.
Though i already knew.
"Stop staring... It's nerve racking." he glared at me and i pulled back my gaze.
Mum left the room to get something and i took the oppotunity to ask about last night.
"This book will answer everything," he said gesturing to the pages infront of him, "You need to read it for yourself."
"Can you tell me what the hell they were?" I asked, keeping my voice low.
Kyle shook his head, "I wish!"
Mum entered back into the room and i ended the conversation, "tell me when you do."

Description:
From the little line down is what i edited last.
It's a bit of a 'I am Legend' story.
I think i might make a novel out of it. But who knows. The target was destroyed by him not a gun by the way, its sort of an out take from the middle. - Date: 12/14/2008
