• Nothing special… an ordinary day, but what I didn’t know was that that day my world would flip upside down.
I’m your average girl, pretty enough, skinny enough, nice enough. Why don’t I just start and you can try and keep up?
“Mom, I’m going to go train now.” I smiled as I hopped up from the table and ran to the door.
    “Katsu!” she screamed after me.
I turned on my toe and almost fell, but caught myself.
She shot a hair tie at my face. “Ahh!” I screeched as I fumbled to catch it. When I did I smiled and continued out the door.
Once outside I placed the rubber band in my mouth and pulled my long brown hair back into a high pony tail. I left some hair over my left eye, just because I can.
“Katsu…” A voice scolded me as I tried to sneak into practice.
I let out a large sigh, “Sorry Asuma-sensei.”
“It’s your first day with my team; most people try very hard to be on time for a good first impression.” He pointed out to me. He was fairly tall, with a Chunin vest on. There was a weird little bandana like thing hanging from his waist and a cigarette in his mouth.
I nodded then took great interest in the lovely dirt ground; there were a few flowers and some patches of grass. I felt my face getting very hot and when it did that it also turned red, bright red.
“Regardless… would you like to meet your new team members?” When I looked up my new sensei was smiling at me. It seemed he found my embarrassment funny or actually thought I’d be fun to teach.
“Yes, there are three of them correct?” I asked, just to make sure I’d gotten the correct information so I didn’t look dumb.
Sensei nodded, “Yes, three. Choji Akamichi.” A boy a little on the plumper side jumped down from the trees over head. He smiled and waved. His hair was light brown and he had little swirls on his cheeks.
“Ino” I don’t know why he didn’t use this student’s last name, but a girl fell from the trees and landed next to the Choji boy. Her hair was light blonde and up in a ponytail with some over her eye, like mine. Her blue eyes sparkled and she gave me a slight wave.
“and Shikamaru Nara.” Sensei finished. A boy with black hair tied back in a ponytail fell from the trees. He wore nothing but a fishnet shirt and he smirked at me, “Hey.” He gave me something similar to a salute.
“Hello.” I blushed as I held up my hand and moved the top of my fingers in a wave.
“Guys, this is Katsu. She’s going to be joining out team.” Asuma-sensei said as he put his arm around my shoulders in a fatherly way.
Ino made a high pitched squealing noise and ran over to me and wrapped me in a hug, “Yay! Another girl!” She leaned down to my ear, “These guys are a little… strange.” She whispered. I gave a slight giggle; I wasn’t going to ruin my chance at a friendship. She giggled with me.
“Geez, Ino… What’d you tell her?” Choji asked as he and Shikamaru walked over to stand by us.
“Nothing.” Ino said as she stood behind me and winked at Choji.
“Well the four of you have no training for today so you can all bond.” Sensei informed us.
“What if we want to bond by training?” Shikamaru asked him with a smirk.
Asuma laughed the sound was loud and hearty, “More power to you, you little smartass.” He said and ruffled Shikamaru’s hair.
