• As I fall into the black of night, not knowing how I will ever escape, I close my eyes. I wait for the impact of when I will crash into the ground of doom, but I never stop falling. The pit of consequence was deeper than I thought. Then a hand reaches down for me. I grasp the hand, and hang onto it with all of my might. The hand pulls me out of the hole and sets me down in a small room that looked like it was meant for some poor wannabe. Then, I find myself face to face with destiny itself. It’s eyes are black, and empty. It looks at me without saying a word. I began to shake in my shoes afraid of why it brought me to where I was. Then it spoke to me.

“Your destiny awaits you young child. Some of the greatest heroes of all time started out in very bad places, where it seemed as if they could never get out of such a hole. But they are usually the ones who make it to places higher than any other. They are usually the ones who save lives. Now, young child, face your true destiny, and begin your journey. The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.” It said to me.

What he said about the greatest heroes reminded me of my hero. John Cooper. John Cooper had started as a janitor at a church. Now, after years of journeying, he is one of the biggest Christian rock stars. And he may not be a super hero, saving people from villains, but he is saving peoples hearts from the devil. That was when I believe Destiny read my thoughts.

“Young child, you see? The greatest of all people started as nothing but a mere peasant. But now, they reign high above the lands, saving citizens from the mass destruction of evil. Now, face your true destiny,” it said as it disappeared into the night. Once Destiny was out of my sight, right in front of me stood an electric guitar, meant for starters. It wasn’t of the best quality, and it had a bent neck, but it was the beginning of the rest of my life.

I picked up my guitar and began to play it. The sounds filled my ears, and I realized my true destiny.
