• "You're the best girl in the class!" "You're popular, you can say it." "You're not ugly." Alison was sick and tired of it. She got the best girl rep for her weirdness, the popularity for music mixes and being good at throwing parties, and she just plain knew she was ugly. She asked herself night and day. Nothing good ever happened to her. Pets died, friends were never real friends, and even nature seemed to dislike her.
She sat in Math class, struggling with a quiz. Math was one of her weakest subjects. She felt one of her friends trying to copy her answers and hid her paper thinking is this all i am to them? An answer bank? She had no idea that in the room was one boy that hated it when she said things about self doubt, and how nobody likes her, because he did. Max was one of the bad boys, but the boy who gave her the "best girl in the class" status. Alison ignored any possibilities of that meaning anything and hurried along in her day. Max passed Stan, his best friend a note; I'm asking Alison to the dance. it read, Stan looked over at Alison and back at Max with a look of approval and gave a note back: when? He knew about his friend's crush for a while. Max didn't answer this time.
After lunch later, Alison opened her locker and a note slipped out. She picked it up and it read: You ARE going to the dance with me, I ignored the best of the best for too long. Alison smiled to herself, she turned around and sure enough Max was coming. Alison acted cool, and walked up to him. "I'll go with you, but can we meet there?" Alison asked. Max smiled.
"Ya, sounds great." Max said, with his i-got-the-girl smile. The night of the dance, Alison put on a green shirt and red skort with a Santa hat. She added her new black uggs she got for getting streight a's for the first time, and was ready. For once she didn't feel awkward around a guy, when they agreed on a song, they danced, but Alison stayed by Max for most of the dance. Max asked for her number that night before she went inside without a kiss, and she was happy for once.
I know this sucks and I'm a terrible writer, but please don't leave mean comments telling me that ok? Follow the rule if you've got nothing nice to say then don't say anything.
