• The dark misty night took me by surprise; I nearly believed that the weather was working with me this evening. I could see no stars for the fog was too thick to see an inch from my nose. It would be difficult for me to find a safe place to hide tonight but it would also be hard for them to find me. As I walked I made sure to take time because it would be probably another hour or so before they stumbled upon my doorstep.
I was able to get far within the hour; I ended up finding an old shack. It seemed that it had been vacant for some time. I looked at the old boards that seemed to be the outside, rotting away, it did not seem a sturdy place to live but for one night I could rest easily. I entered the old shack; the door was rather hard to get open though, I managed. The inside was just as bad if not worse than the outside. Broken glass bottles scattered a crossed the floor, broken chairs, and I swear I could see some blood even. “Boy, I sure picked the right place,” the heavy sarcasm in my whisper made someone make a throaty laugh. “Excuse me, who’s there?” I demanded but it seemed that the person I heard laugh wanted to keep them self a secret. I tried to remember where the laugh came from, I headed toward the counter. As I leaned over I noticed a head of black hair; not surprised I curled my hand into his hair and lifted him from the floor. He made no movement and he felt rather light. As I came face to face with the man I was holding up I noticed a slice a crossed his throat. “AHH!” I couldn’t believe I was holding a dead body; I immediately released it from my grip and let it fall to the floor.
A chuckle came from the other side of the room. “I see you met my friend,” a tall figure was hidden slightly in the shadows of a corner.
“That was not even remotely funny and I would shut up if I were you, unless of course you want to get hurt,” I wasn’t bluffing. I waited for his reaction.
“You’re only a mere girl, there is nothing you could do to harm me,” His eyes shot open, they glowed a bright crimson red. I gasped as a reaction.
“You’re one too!” I exclaimed with excitement. He must have been on the run too.
“If you are talking about a Jin you are correct, are you one?”
    “Y-yes.”
