• Her eyes punch daggers through my own, mocking me with a sense of fateful humor. As she speaks i imagine a long green tongue growing from her mouth, her teeth turning a fine yellow. Her lips curl back revealing the jagged, but very sharp, teeth. Her tail swishes back and forth in menacing retreat. But before I can imagine anything else, her sharp voice directs at me. " You have to do it ", she says admiring her French manicure. " You are the best". Everything she says has the right to be italisized as it is said with such disgraceful sarcastic tones. I swallow the lump in the back of my throat. I try to create daggers of my own but they are obviously strained. I try to use the same sinister tone as her, " Well they just had to make sure they got some one they could trust". She seems thrown aback fom the comment. She sneers at me but decides shes had enough. " Rouge, Thalia lets go!". She turns on her heels and motions for them. Rouge has bright red hair, green eyes, and porclein features. She is also the best fencing player I have ever seen. Thalia has dirty blonde hair and always tries to look like Jewel. She is also not the brightest person. Jewel, of course, is my motal enemy. Her chesnut hair and honey eyes may seem innocent but trust me when I say" Things are not always what they appear". Everyone else treats her like royalty but gossips behind her back. I think of it like this- People love to hate her. Her being popular could have something to do with her fater being the Supreme Judge. Or maybe it has a lot to do with that.

I am your typical fifteen year old girl. I have brown hair so dark it looks black. I also have violet eyes, of which I am always teased about. I am also kind of tall and have violet and gold wings instead of white ones.

Okay, I know what you are thinking. YOUR'E A BIRD!!! No. Actually I am an angel. You heard me right. I didnt die or anything, I was born an angel. My birthplace is not even on the map. Its called Altarea. Its a secret place among the clouds where angels live. Heaven is about ten thousand feet above us where only the most worthy angels get to live....

Like my dad. I haven't seen him since i was five. I don't remember him much and i don't really care. I am happy with just my mom.

Here's the thing. I look nothing like my mom. She has golden blonde hair and wide blue eyes. With my dad it's pretty much the same. My mom says it happens sometimes but I'm not so sure....

    Chapter 2

The Supreme Judge walked in (a.k.a. Jewel's dad). He isn't that old. Only like ten thousand years old. Oh I forgot to mention, some angels live for thousands of years before they start ageing. You stop ageing so quickly at the age of twenty one. So yeah, you could say that most of us are pretty ancient.

Judge Ringler,(ha ha, ring and jewel, get it?), has the same golden honey eyes as his daughter and rough, shaggy, brown hair. And maybe it's just me, but he always appears to be hiding something. He has a grin that tells you that he knows more than what he's letting on. But I may just be imagining it.

His voice is deep as he speaks, echoing across the stone room. "We all know why we are gathered here today." He turns his eyes on me and I feel like becoming invisible. "It appears that a fallen angel has been causing chaos down on Earth." There were gasps and whispers throughout the room.

Fallen angels are , well, fallen angels. On Earth they are known as vampires. They have long, sharp teeth, and feed of the blood of humans for survival. They are usually charming gentlemen trying to get cozy with you so that they can suck your blood. It makes me cringe every time I think about it.

"Erin is going down to Earth to take care of it." I cringed at the sound of my name. This was my first mission ever. I have to complete it to become a guardian angel. I sighed and stood up. "I am to go down to Earth and capture this "fallen angel". I have had much training and am ready!". People looked up to me in respect. It was a very proud moment. I was full of confidence. If only I knew what lay ahead.
    CHAPTER 3
My mother started weeping. "I-I c-can't b-believe y-your're l-leaving!". I hugged her and assured her that everything was going to be okay. She looked at me, tears welling in her eyes. "I know you will do great." By the way, my mom's name is Jody. Fitting, right? I gave her one last hug and then set off for the journey of my life.

I plugged my noise, trying not to get any of the stink from the city in it. This was Earth, a supposadly beautiful place where the air is always fresh and clean. Yeah, right. I don't know what planet my people where talking about, but it sure wasn't this one.

A taxi came thundering down the road. I yelped and backed up before I would look like the piece of gum I got on my shoe earlier. The taxi just went on without a care in the world. "Jerk", I muttered under my breath, glad to be away from the taxi.

I walked down the sidewalk, dragging my feet along the pavement. "Boo", an unfamiliar voice shouted. I must have jumped five feet in the air. It was a tall guy in a long coat. He had a little hat on too. He opened up his coat revealing lots of jewelry, watches and all sorts of shiny things. He rubbed his mustache before addressing me. "Ain't seen yous around here". "That's right",I said ,trying to remain calm.

The man took out a cigarette and lit it. He blew the smoke right into my face. My lungs filled with the unpleasant smoke.
