• I sat in class one day trying to concentrate on what my science teacher was saying. It was 6th period and school was almost over. As soon as the bell would ring i would dash over to my best friends pool party and help prepare for it. Everyone was going there and i would be one step closer to being popular if i went.I started daydreaming about the party when the announcement bell went off i looked up and listen. It really caught my attention when it announced : " Kayla Henson will you please report to the secretary". I gathered my books and stood up i wasn't sure if it was because i had done something wrong or was it my mom picking me up early because she knew i had been extremely excited for the party. My teacher excused me and said good bye. I headed down to the secretary office and saw my mom and little sister, Taylor, there. My mom greeted me and said " Taylor fainted in school she says her arm hurts I'm taking her to the doctor. I'm sure it's nothing serious but I'm sure you would want to be there just in case." I rolled my eyes and did a dramatic sigh. " Mom I'm sure she's just faking and using that as an excuse to get out of school. My mom gave me a stern look grabbed my arm and started walking towards the car i didn't fuss after that.

    My mom came out of the doctors appointment without Taylor and tears in her eyes. I was worried and I jumped to my feet " what's wrong with Taylor mom?" My mom looked at me with sad eyes and said Taylor was diagnosed with leukemia. My heart felt like it stopped beating. I hugged my mom and started crying to.

    Taylor went through months and and months of surgery and chemo therapy.

    My mom was always exhausted from being in the hospital all the time. Each day Taylor grew weaker and weaker. One day she stopped responding to treatment. 2 months later Taylor past away.
