• A Roll of Thunder

Aww, the sound of a spring break school bell. Now it's finally spring break for St. Johnsted Middle school. Now on my way home and i can feel all the stress of the; (homework, school work, the mouth of all the teachers), just float away, or so until school begans 2 weeks from now.
So now i have to walk the two miles it takes to get home, Or i could take the short cut my friends had told me about threw the woods to the east side of the school building. Yeah, i think i just might take that short cut today and besides, it will help me when school begins again. Wow, the clouds today really are kinda dark. Im not likeing that right now, hope it can hold off until i get home.
I can feel the vibration of the first roll of thunder in my chest. The first sprinkle fell and began to soak my cloathing. I still have a whole mile and 3/4 of the other one till i get to my house. Boom! Was all i heard then i could feel my heart rate begin to speed up. So i began to walk a little faster so i could get home before the storm could proceed and get worse.
Boom! With each sound of thunder i began to hear my heart in my ears get louder and louder. Now running faster than my walking i hope it can get me home in time. Boom! My nerves a just about shot. My heart beating so loud in my ears, i can barely here myself think. And the rain pooring down like the water rapids in a ocean storm, (wild and unstoppable). I get my legs to move as fast as they can, running at full speed now.
Dodging trees and tree roots trying not to trip on one of them. Boom! Trembling, my knees feel as if they are gonna give on me. Boom! Running as fast as i can I take a look at the sky still dark as a night sky. Next all i could feel was the bone in my ankle snap as it got caught in the root of a tree sticking 5inches out of the ground. As i fall i could see my house about 50 yards away and i look down to see my fate. A rock, a big sharp rock. Boom, was all i heard before my head crushed into this rock of faith.
