    Well they say the RUC will be disbanded any day just like always
    So we will strike hard and heavy incase this time it’s true

    Well I became an RUC cadet as soon as I left school
    They just had me sign on the dotted line
    And I earned a pretty package to uphold the crown
    I was proud to wear the emblem of the crown above the harp
    And keep the Republicans down

    They taught me be loyal, true and a friend to all
    And to never to hit a Catholic
    Unless it’s from behind
    When it came to target practice I scored 10 out of 10
    But there are no cardboard Provos in Crossmaglen

    I’ve been shot and sniped at
    Even say my comrades’ car blown up
    Well it just seems so unfair to me
    We where piggies in the middle
    Arresting one side and shielding the other

    Our courage has been called into question
    And they say we are most unkind when we beat the Irish down
    Don’t they see Ireland shouldn’t be ruled by the Irish
