Yeah, so I'm updating this too. This place is where I can rant, rave and say whatever the heck I want. Ah~ The sweet bliss. Well, feel free to drop in and read some of my insanities. There's always room to insert your own into the mosh-pit! XD
A Quick Update - Working Jobs
Yes, I am aware that I updated on Sunday... But sometimes things happen faster than I planned for it to. In my last entry I talked about taking some time off and chilling until I got the call from my boss-lady at the tutoring academy - well, it so turns out that I didn't get time to chill...

When I was still half-asleep on Monday morning, my mom came to me and said that the boss-lady called late the night before and told my parents that she'd like for me to start coming into work right away. She also informed my parents that she'd been calling my cell phone but that I'd never answered her. In either case, my mom woke me up telling me that I'd have to get up right away and go to work. Me, not fully comprehending this until ten minutes after I really woke up, got ready for work and left in a hurry.

Given my short notice (so to speak), I showed up at work and told my boss-lady that I'd checked my phone for missed calls and voice messages, but that there were none. We checked her phone book - and amazingly enough (*coughcough*) she'd written down my phone number wrong. stare rolleyes So much for that. But in any case, I started my work training - which was basically sit in one of the classrooms with the other teachers and watch how they handle/teach the class each period. It really wasn't so bad.

The students on the other hand... eek

I can't say that all of the students are bad - it's just that the majority of them are very, very hard to control. And the ones that are really hard to control are the ones in that particular age group that I do not like. Hence, 3rd~7th graders. But I know I have it easy cuz the classes that I have are mostly kids that came from Korea not too long ago, so they listen well due to the strict educational environment that they have there. It's just those kids in my other class that are American-raised and don't listen to a word I say. (No offense on the American way of education - just stating a difference.)

But ah well, dispite that, the whole picture of work is pretty much OK. Not too bad - not too good. Just OK. It's a good thing Paul's there - he helped me a lot by telling me which kids are the hardest to control and how to control them. But other than that... I feel a bit sorry for the boy cuz he's pretty much thrown around like a rag doll by the girls there. They ask for his number, they try to paint his nails ( eek heart ) and they try to figure out what his hobbies are and if he likes them or not. Because of this, I can understand why he would lie and tell the girls that he already has a girlfriend.

...Only now that plan has backfired on him... And me. stare

Since I started work on Monday, and everyone found out that Paul and I go to the same church, every single girl (and most of the boys) have come up to me and asked me if I was Paul's girlfriend. The first time I tried to say no, Paul shook his head. Confused, because I didn't know the full story then, I just said "Maybe." and left it at that. But now that I do, I straight out say "No." - but I can't help feeling sorry for the guy. I blew his cover. wink heart But what can I say? That pale pink nail polish looks good on him. rolleyes

In any case, work isn't too bad at this point. I acutally got off work earlier than expected today cuz the number of kids going on the library field trip was only five and they didn't need an extra teacher. So yeah. 3nodding (Yay for more sleep!) 4laugh

That's it for now. I just thought I'd tell everyone who bothers to read that I'd started work now. 3nodding As for the schedule, I work Mondays - Fridays, 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. But the time I get off of work may vary, like it did today, depending on how many kids are going and where we're going as well. I'll let you know.

Talk to you all later~!

Poor Kitsune. God bless you for dealing with kids like that. None taken on the American/Korean students comment. I think American children, (ages 4-20 stare ) have no discipline whatsoever.
