The shock sent all of us toppling out of where we were sleeping. Chris's chair was knocked over, and sent him rolling into the wall. Ruby was sent to the floor from a nearby couch, and Eric managed to wind up underneath the table with a bowl of chips on his head. Terra, for some odd reason, was just standing at the center of the room with a shocked expression. As for Aqua and me, we wound up crashing into the coffee table before hitting the floor!
"What happened," Eric asked as he lifted the bowl from his head.
"I think it was an earthquake," replied Aqua who was rubbing her forehead, "but the explosion suggests otherwise."
"...It came from the park," said Terra.
"The park," exclaimed Ruby. "This had better not be a damned terrorist attack, because if it is I'll..." Ruby stormed into the kitchen and came back with a frying pan in her hand.
The rest of us decided to get up and back up to the back wall, except Aqua.
"Ruby, that's for cooking," Aqua said simply. "Use the stainless steel. I keep that one at the ready just in case."
"Okay," Ruby said witha smile as she picked up the other pan. "Now to the park!"
Everyone marched outside, but something was out of place here. No one really got that excited anymore since we'd been friends with Eric, and who'd want to check out a recent explosion that made the house shake? What the heck was going on?
"Hey!! Alexander," Aqua called to me. "Come on! We've got to go."
"But doesn't it feel strage," I asked her.
"Oh, you're just saying that, because Eric usually accidentally causes these type of things. Like the time when he crashed into the D.M.V. office on his test, or the time he managed to accidentally piss of a fireman and set the firehouse on fire."
"Yeah, I guess, huh," I watched Aqua pick up the frying pan Ruby put down. "What are you doing? You said that one was for cooking."
"I know what I said, but no one uses this frying pan but ME!!! Now whoever caused that explosion is gonna pay for the damages on this house one way or another!!! So, come on!!!"
I didn't have any time to protest as she seized my wrist and dragged me with her to the park. Her grip was really tight, but I began to ignore it as we went into the park. Because, there was no one else there. It was early in the morning and no one else was woken up. What the heck was going on here? When we caught up with the rest of our friends, I managed to free myself from Aqua's grip.
"Hold on," I gasped. They turned to me with the same look that said, 'what is it now." "Haven't you noticed that no one else is here? Something this big would've attracted some attention, so why hasn't it?"
They all took a look around and became a little worried when they realized it. Then Chris took a step toward me and seized the collar of my shirt. Man what is up with these guys today?
"Are you saying that you know something," Chris asked as he tightened his grip.
Then, as I was about to say something, Ruby slammed him over the head with the frying pan. "Let him go Chris. You know that we know as much he does about this, and that's absolutely nothing. So, let's go." Ruby was just as scary as Aqua when it came to times like this.
"HEY GUYS," Eric called to us from a few feet away. "GET OVER HERE! IT'S AMAZING!!!"
We all rushed over to find a large crater with a great crystal geode in the center. We were all struck speechless from the mere sight of it, and we mindlessly wandered toward it.
Then I collapsed to my knees with my arms clutching my head. My head was pounding like crazy, and a voice was echoing into my mind, 'So, you're finally here. I've been waiting for eightteen long years to do this, Alexander Yume!'
This voice knew my name? My full name? What the heck.."
My friends were panicking at what was happening to me, but I couldn't hear them. The pounding in my head was too rough. Then the geode began to glow, and our gems began to resonate with it. Nothing could be done as we were engulfed by the light.
