“Ahhhh,” I cried out.
“Quiet,” Kane reacted. “We’re in a library.”
“Well, look what you did,” I muttered, trying to get over the swelling pain in my hand. “I thought it’d be a little cut, not a hole in my hand!”
“Well, don’t look so surprised,” Kane replied coolly, as he pulled the blade out of my hand, wiped it clean, and put it back into that bottomless-hole-of-a-bag on his waist. “There’s no reason to be a wuss.”
Terra’s face was in shock, Ruby was turning green, Eric didn’t know what to do, and Aqua passed out. I tried to rush to her, but Kane wouldn’t let go of my hand. Chris, on the other hand, was kicking back and enjoying the show.
“Kane,” I started. “Let go of me!”
“Not so fast,” said Kane. “Look at your hand.”
How can he be so calm about this!? It’s really starting to get on my nerves. And, why should I look at my hand? I’m already in pain there! Wait a second… Where’s the pain? “Huh,” I looked at my hand. “What the,” my mouth gapped open as the hole in my hand was completely healed, and a tattoo of a circle of feathers was now on the back. Then I glanced at the book, and the pages slowly filled.
“Hey,” Eric instantly popped next to me, as Kane calmly let go of my hand. “Nice tattoo! Did you do this Kane?”
“Eric,” Terra suddenly appeared behind Eric. You remember what happened with the temporary tattoos, right?”
“Oh yeah,” Eric answered remembering another of his many incidents, this one being about the time where he had taken all of these temporary tattoos and plastered his arms with them up to his shoulder joint. “I never did where a shirt with sleeves that week or shower either,” Eric grinned brightly, as we stared blankly at him and shook our heads. “Never mind,” he said as he took Terra’s hand and had a seat next to her at the table again.
“Okay,” Kane started again, “put your crystal to the cover, and that will be it.”
At this point, I think I’ll just go along with anything he says. It’s starting to become really confusing trying to make sense of anything here.
‘Then hurry up and put the crystal to the cover.’
“WHO IS THAT,” I yelled out, as everyone stared at me.
Ruby got up from her seat and put the back of her hand to my forehead. “I think he has a fever,” she said calmly.
“Are you hearing voices,” Chris asked curiously.
“Yes,” I replied.
“He’s lost it.”
“Definitely,” Eric added.
“You guys are ridiculous,” I muttered.
Then I looked up to see Kane staring directly at me. “Is it…,” he whispered under his breath. “No. He would’ve had something for a long period of time before that occurred.”
“Huh,” I said blankly.
“Gem. Book. HURRY UP,” Kane snapped.
I jumped in my chair as I grasped the gem around my neck and pressed it to the book cover. Suddenly, the book instantly vanished in a flash of light. “What just-,” I instantly took hold of my head with both hands as another headache raged in my again, and I began rambling out loud, “Pholadin, guardian of light and master of dreams, his power is drawn from the self as the self loses part of the self. Yet all shall be returned once the power has finished with the self.” Everyone’s gaze became transfixed on me as my eyes began to widen. “But, the self shall part not with the self to give another a second chance. To seek this power, have only the faith of Star of Dreams” I lost track of what I was saying from that point, before another flash of light blinded the room.
More voices began echoing in my head.
‘Get out of his head!’
‘I was here first!’
‘That’s not the point! Now get out before I force you out!’
‘Never!’
‘BEGONE!’ There was a short silence in the blinding light before the voice that spoke last continued, ‘Good. He’s gone from your head for now, but he’ll be back later.”
Who are you?
‘My name is Pholadin, and don’t worry. I’ll keep silent. We don’t want your friends to think that you’re crazy.’
The light cleared, and I woke up with my head on the table. “Oooooh…,” my headache was gone, but my head was still spinning. “Hm,” I turned to my friends who were conscience, and starring at me with an odd look. “What’s wrong?”
“It’s not you,” Terra replied as calmly as she could in a nervous tone.
“It’s what you’re wearing now,” Ruby followed up.
“What I’m wearing,” I said confused. “A white polo, a pair of jeans, and a- what the,” I looked down to see that I was wearing a few other things now, polished silvery white. A chest plate over my shirt, a pair of metal gauntlets on my hands, and a pair of shin guards above my shoes. Then I put my hand to my forehead to find a headband with metal plates around my head. Then I turned to Kane, “Is this what you meant by ‘fitted?’”
