“I don’t kill Eric,” Terra stated as she touched Aqua’s chair and freed her from its grasp.
“Thanks,” Aqua thanked her as she rubbed her wrists.
“In either case,” Kane interjected, “we should get out of here before more show up.”
“Hold on,” yelled Chris. “I don’t know about the rest of you guys, but I’m not up to going back to that happy-faced freak show of a world! Besides, this one looks a little more-“
WHAM! Ruby came from behind with a… a frying pan? How did she?
“NO COMPLAINTS,” Ruby screamed. “WE HAVE TO HURRY UP AND GET OUT OF HERE, SO WE CAN GET HOME! AND, IF THAT’S NOT BAD ENOUGH, I’M MISSING MY SOAPS!!!”
Chris grasped the top of his throbbing head, “So, I’m missing mine too! And, where’d you get that thing?”
“It’s my personal creation,” Aqua smiled, as she raised her palm up. The air around her hand became visibly white and came into her hand. Then a frying pan made of solid ice formed. “IF ANYONE ELSE HAS ANY OBJECTIONS, THEY CAN DEAL WITH ME!”
This is bad. She’ll go on a rampage if we don’t agree with her.
Eric blinked for a few seconds, “Isn’t that cold?”
“Nope, not at all,” Ruby replied.
“Enough,” Kane yelled, as he pulled the coin out of his pouch and flipped it.
My gaze turned to the open door, as the moon light flooding the doorway instantly warped into sunlight. And, when I turned to face the guy Terra floored, he was gone.
“Hey, what happened to the guy Terra crushed,” I asked Kane.
“The flip-side coin can only take people who don’t belong in either world between the two,” Kane said simply. “Now, will you three get your noses out of your books and get to it!”
I turned to see that Eric, Ruby, and Chris were reading under their breaths. Then they closed their books, pressed their gems to them, and lights rushed from the books into Ruby, Eric, and Chris.
“So,” Aqua started anxiously, “what did you guys get!?”
“Mine said something about the phoenix being a symbol of beauty, immortality, and passion,” Ruby said plainly. “You know, all that mumbo jumbo about a guardian of fire, but I did get a few things out of it.”
“Mine said something about a roc, but isn’t rock supposed to have a k after the c,” Eric asked out of confusion.
“Eric,” Terra spoke up. “A roc is a legendary great white Arabic bird said to eat fully grown elephants.”
We stared at her dumbfounded for a few seconds.
“How did you know that,” Aqua asked.
“Well, um, it’s from that English AP class,” she answered shyly.
We all nodded as if to say, “Ahh… I see.”
“So, Eric is there anything else,” Aqua asked smiling.
“Just it being the guardian of air and a symbol of wit and power,” he answered plainly.
“Okay! So, that’s two birds, one serpent, one Greek god slash titan, and one,” Aqua paused for a second. “HEY! What about you, Chris? And you, Alexander?”
I sat silently, as Chris said, “Something called Drakar. From what I can tell, it’s known as the night dragon and a symbol of destruction and chaos.”
We stared at him for a few seconds in an uncomfortable silence.
“What,” he yelled angrily.
“Nothing! Nothing,” we all started babbling as he folded his arms and stared at us maliciously.
“Well,” Aqua turned to me. “What about you?”
Everyone turned to me.
“Well, I… uh…,” I didn’t know what to say now, as I tried to focus on what the heck was Pholadin. Then, out of nowhere, it hit me. “Pholadin is the day dragon. He’s known as a symbol of the protector.”
“And, two dragons,” Aqua finished her list. “Okay, Kane, we’re ready to save the world and go home, so can we get started now?”
Kane looked at us silently, “I have three things to say. One, this saving the world thing is going to take months.” Aqua’s mouth dropped. “Two, you guys need to get used to using your new found powers.” Chris cracked his knuckles, and Eric put a wide grin on his face. “And three, it’s time for your test!”
“TEST,” Ruby and Aqua screamed in unison.
“I have to see if you guys can survive,” Kane answered as he snapped his fingers. The other tables and chairs flew right up against the book shelves; the rubble behind Kane reformed into the angelic statue and flew on top of a table, and the table in front of us jumped over head and barricaded the door. “Now, I’ve already seen that Terra can handle herself, so who wants to be first?”
