Story.
The sun peeked out groggily as if mother Universe had awakened it from eternal slumber. The clouds layered the sky like blankets in the horizon comforting the sun. The night took its cue and slipped away slilently to bring sleep to others. Morning stretched out across the towns and cities brightening the lives of everyone as tomorrow became today once again. Kia grumbled and pulled the covers over her ears. Tiny shards of sun reached into her room licking her face pleading her awake. Kia gave a frustrated sigh and shook the gripping covers away. She sat up rubbing sleep out of her. 'Thank God It's Saturday' she thought grabbing some clothes. Kia made her way to the bathroom like a zombie. The floor creaked underneath her feet as she walked into the bright white tiled room. After taking a shower and brushing her teeth Kia felt better. Throwing on her shorts and a shirt she made her way downstairs. She took the extra time to check out the family pictures hooked perfectly on the wall. Seeing her dad's face tore at her heart a little, but she accepted he was gone. Breakfast was waiting in the kitchen as she rounded the corner. What she saw made her almost fall. Kia ran around the corner and half-way up the stairs. 'What the hell is Derek doing here!?!' she shreiked in her head. A wide blush crossed her face rapidly as she looked up to meet his eyes. "Morning Kia!" he said happily. The crooked smile she loved so much spread across his lips. "Someone is blushing." he continued teasingly. "N-N-Nooo." stuttered Kia standing. She quickly slipped past him walking to the livingroom. "You just scared me is all. What are you doing here?" Kia asked pivoting on her heels and accidentally banging into his broad chest their lips brushing. He smiled slightly wrapping his arms loosly around her kissing back. Electricity ran through Kia's limbs as shewrapped her arms aroound his neck. HEr blush faded as Derek pulled back slowly. 'That was a hell of a lot better than I could possibly think it would be' he thought. Kia's eyes fluttered open as a wide smiled crosed her lips reaching her eyes making them sparkle. Derek's grin brightened as he began to speak. "Anyway, what's wrong with coming to see my girlfriend?" he asked teasing slightly. Kia just rolled her eyes and pushed him away playfully. "Oh nothing I guess." she said returning his tone. "Awww . . ." he continued falling into a pitiful sitting position. Kia just laughed and went to the kitchen and grabbed some breakfast. She carried her food out to the table and ate it without a word. After washing her dishes she slid back out to the livingroom sitting by Derek on the poofy couch. He smiled wrapping his arms around her. They sat like this for an imeasurable amount of time just looking into eachother's eyes and chatting. Derek left at three, but not before Kia agreed to meeting him at the park. She climbed up the stairs to her room happily and signed on to her computer. She spent the next two hours talking and writing her report. Kia stretched and walked downstairs for dinner. Her mom had put a pizza in the oven and she felt famished. Kia snatched two giant pieces and walked into the livingroom. She smiled while she ate watching Fuse television. Kia was happy for the first time in a year. She had finally found someone to make her happy, Kia felt whole again.
