The next morning Hero walked down stairs with his fingers through his hair, yawning as he made his way down the case. When he reached the bottom he listened to the quiet hallways of his home. As he stepped into the living room that morning he got a rude wakening. His family was huddled together, his cousin shedding tears and his aunt holding her mouth as his father read aloud to them. At first it was just mumbling to Hero but then a dead silence. Heros father lifted his head up and looked at him with depressed eyes.
"What is everyone...so sad about?" Hero asked as he stepped closer to the group. Not a word came from his aunt or cousin as they sat there holding one another. His aunt trying to comfort his cousin as best as she could. "Son...maybe you should sit down..." Hero's father said pointing to the couch just in front of him. Hero did as his father suggested and sat down on the leather sofa, feeling it comfort his body.
Hero's father hesiated before showing Hero the picture of the front page of the local newspaper. Once it was reavlead Hero sat there staring blankly at the headline as though nothing had happened...but really it was probably the biggest shock of his life.
The headline stuck out in large bold letters, an eye sore really, reading out: Local Student Raped and Murdered in Fischer Forest
Hero bit his lip and looked away from the picture of Val's portrait just under the headline. His smile disgusted him, his eyes made him fear the truth. Val had been the victim.
"Hero, we need to contact his mother right away. I think that-" Just as Hero's father was in the middle of his sentence Hero stood up and started to head out of the living room cutting his father off with his own comment. "You can do it. I want nothing to do with any of this...I hope I made myself clear on that..." Hero's hair cast a shadow over his eyes as he walked awya and back up to his room.
His family looked at one another heart broken and not exactly sure what to do. Meanwhile Hero reached his room and shut the door before crying out in agony as he punched his fist into the wall. The sad sound echoed through the room, escaping from underneath the crack of the door. It made it's way down the stair case and into the ears of his family.

The preist finished the service at Val's burrial site. Valentines mother kissed her fingers and pressed them against the stone that his Name was carved into. An angel statue with a blindfold and complex robes reached her hand out to Val's mother as she stood there watching over Val's grave.
Everyone began to go their seperate ways to their own cars. Students and people from the town had gathered around to send out their prayers to Valentine. Hero wasn't around the crowed however. He had been watching in his finest black suit from a distance. His cousin of course had spotted him but made no attemtp to drag him any closer to the crowed knowing very well how much he loved Valentine.
Once everyone was gone, Hero walked out to Valentines grave. His blank face stared down at the tombe stone before looking up at the guardian angel statue standing over the stone. The late afternoon turned into sunset. the blood red sky bursted out as Hero stood there watching the grave in silence. The wind whistled as it passed on by.
The sun was setting fully to let it's sister come up and take it's place. Hero bent down to one knee and ran his fingers over Valentines name. "My Valentine..." Hero whispered before forcing a grin as his eyes began to water like they had perviouse nights after Valentines death.
(epilogue to come)
-sigh-...ok there you have it...I nearly cried...I know me cry...the worlds come to an end again...yes there will be another part but it's going to be like...the aftermath...
