This was really strange. I knew Aqua was brilliant, but playing tricks was something she hated the most of all. After my eyes adjusted to the dark, I saw a glowing strip of tape that pointed in the direction of Aqua's living room.
"Hey! I think I know what's going on," Eric cried eagerly.
"What is it then," asked Chris. He was a little creeped out himself.
"Just hurry up and follow the tape already," Eric answered.
So, we let Eric lead, since he knew what was happening, why not? Then we walked into the living room to find it a little quiet. Something was here...
"SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!"
Our eyes popped, we jumped back a little bit, our ears were pounding, and our hearts almost skipped a beat. It was Aqua with a megaphone.
"What took you so long," she yelled through the megaphone. "I've been waiting five minutes for you to figure it out, and only Eric got it!?!?!?!?! What's the matter with you!?!?"
We were still recovering from her first assault with that thing. My ears were still ringing, but I managed to walk up to her, and say, "Sorry, about being late. I didn't know you put so much effort into this, wow." I looked around the room to find ballons, streamers, cake, and a big sign that said 'CONGRATULATIONS'. Then I took the megaphone away from her, and put it behind my back.
"Thanks, and it's alright that you're late guys," Aqua said apologetically.
"Phew, then we can all relax," Chris sighed.
"EXCEPT YOU, CHRIS," yelled Aqua. "I thought I saw someone holding a pipe above their head ready to break the window. IT WAS YOU WASN'T IT!?!?!?!?!?"
Yep, it was Aqua. No one else would be that scary and kind at the same time. Poor Chris, I didn't realize she had a kaorioke machine set up right next to her. Oh well.
"Oh, wow," Ruby sighed, "it's a congratulations party for making it half way through the school year, and everything looks perfect."
"Cake, music, decorations," Eric said as he was looking around, "why didn't you let me help out?"
"Eric," terra began, "it's a surprise party. You weren't supposed to help, but you figured it out."
"Exactly, and I'm glad all of us passed," Aqua cried out, "even Chris."
"..." Chris was a little too scared and ear-shot to talk back right now.
"Oh," Aqua cried, "I almost forgot." She pulled out six boxes and gave each of us one. "Since we're graduating, and we don't have class rings. I decided to get us all a set of stones as a mark of our group."
We opened the boxes one at a time. Aqua opened hers first to reveal a sparkling sapphire in the shape of a tear.
"Wow..." we all sighed in unison.
"I can't wait to see what you got me," Ruby let out and opened her box. She took out a ruby in the shape of a flame. "Who made this? It's amazing!"
"Hmm, I don't wear jewery," Terra stated, "but I'll make an exception for you guys." She took out an amber pendent shaped like a leaf. She blinked for a second then said, "I like this a lot."
"I guess I'll go next since Chris is just coming around," Eric said a little smug. He took out an emerald that looked like a puffy cloud. "Hey, it matches my ring! Thanks, Aqua."
Chris finally came around, "Okay, I'll wear a piece of jewelry for a little bit," he said in an exasperated sigh. Then he took out an onyx cresent moon that was pitch black. "Never mind the little while, it looks kind of cool. ...Thanks." Chris wasn't too good with thank you's at all.
"Okay, Alexander," Aqua cried out a little excited. "It's your turn."
I didn't know what to say or do, so I opened up the box. "What," I said, as I looked at the gem in disbelief. It was a clear crystal shaped like a four point star. "I think this will..."
Everyone starred at me for a second, and Aqua asked, "Do what?"
I took the gem out, and unlike the other gems that could be worn around the neck, it didn't have a string. But, it fit perfectly in my silver necklace.
