Ah, its been awhile. Nearly a year. What can I say? Doubt that this thing is read much, sides I finally have a dream that gives a pretty decent story to it. And yes I know the paragraphs are not exactly even or live up to english expectations. I simply don't care
I was in an apartment. Most of my furniture was make shift but I currently sat at a rickety table in a lawn chair within my kitchen. I wore simple clothing, black baggy pants and white t shirt. The florescent light hummed away while a moth batted up against it. At the moment I was making repairs to one of my game systems. My view spans out from one of the two entry ways into the kitchen, from the leaving camera angle we see the living room only illuminated by the moon and the beautiful white falling snow. Within a corner lies a beaten dirty mattress, with the wall being littered with pictures of my past. Whether it be my family, or a place I found pretty, but most noticeably is a picture with me and Rissa (a friend I hold dear). Obviously the living room works as a bedroom. The couch/love seat wasn't too far, placed in front of my television which was propped upon cinder blocks and 2x4s. I still plugged away at my current project, ignoring the moth beating against the bulb, the smell of urine and vomit that seems to seep into the room through the hall, the couple fighting next door, and other distractions. Despite it being winter the room felt blistering hot, it could drive a person mad. With that passing thought someone fell out of the window screaming. It sounded like music if you played it through your head slowly, in particular the song Lonely Day by System of a Down played on. Other then that I was able to push out all the sounds except for the song. I got up and walked into the other room and picked the picture of me and Rissa off the wall. I stared at it for a long time, thinking about everything we did with each other, everything we've been through, and how such good friends we are and how we may become more. All these thoughts kept coming ceaselessly and drove me into a corner of my mind. But that was immediately halted by the building shaking violently, the shaking knocked me into a wall, I pushed myself up and ran to the kitchen. I picked up my jacket from the kitchen counter along with some keys, slipped on my shoes and got out of my private hell of an apartment. I stilled held onto my picture. I ran down the hall towards the elevator, but as I reached it it opened with flames spouting from it. I turned around quickly, I made it half way down the hall before I felt another rumble. Instinctively I turned my back to the wall on the right and held the picture to my chest in a protective embrace. The wall exploded knocking me down to the ground. I got back up, some debris stuck into my back but it was nothing major just some little sharp pieces from god knows where. I trudge forward down the hall away from Hell's elevator and finally made it to the end of the hall, as I was about make the turn the wall in front of me exploded. It sent me flying backwards, I hit the ground hard with that came a flash of pain as the tiny debris seemed to be pushed further into my back. The picture was no longer in my hands, I felt my face and found that it has been shredded quite a bit by the blast, I smelled blood along with it. I don't think I was able to see out of my left eye, regardless I flipped myself over and onto my hands and knees. I started to search the floor for my picture. It felt like an eternity before I found it. I picked it up and examined it, only a corner was torn, I used the wall to help myself to my feet. The whole painful action I spent staring at the picture, not taking my eyes off of it as I rose to my feet. It felt like a good ten seconds before the ground shook and within a split second the ground crumbled below me opening up to a pit of fire. I continued to stare at the picture as I descended into the burning pit, I saw picture catch fire and burned into ashes. It was played in slow motion, while staring at it in its full glory I felt at peace and all was well. As it the spark lit the picture at first I started to feel a slight panic then a false sense of assurance that it will be alright. As it continued to eat and blacken the picture thoughts were racing and I was panicking, trying to find a solution in such a short amount of time. Once it ignited into flame I was frantic crazed, trying to hold it together. Alas when the picture turned to ash I fell into despair, loneliness, anxiety and self hate. The fire kept burning, I started to feel it as I continued to fall. I smelled my flesh burning, flames were all I could see. With a blink of an eye I saw myself in third person, I was only a dark silhouette amongst the flame. I was perfectly fine here but there I was flailing in pain, screaming, nothing I did could put it out, it just kept burning. I soon found "myself" in a movie theater, watching "myself" burn in agony. It seemed the film caught fire and burned off leaving the screen painted white. I heard a quiet voice.
???: Hmm... Interesting and entertaining.
I spun my head towards the voice. And their it sat. Without a face. At least not one in particular, many masks floated around it, and it wore a blue tinted white hoodie and the pants were not visible within the dark theater. The masks were of the comedy and tragedy style masks with many different styled expressions simplified within shapes. It had a mask with a questionable face, with it It tilted it's head and asked.
???: What?
Its voice was a bit louder and you couldn't discern whether it was male or female since it seemed to be a mix of different pitches and tones of both sexes.
Me:...Nothing... Who the hell are you.
It turned away for a moment and replaced its mask with one that seemed to be amused but at the same time thinking.
???: Yeah, that is a good question. Lets just call me mask for now.
With that it gestured to all the masks floating around it.
Me: Why am I here?
It gave some sort of mix laughter towards the question and wiped it's hand across the current mask which suddenly turned into a mask that appeared to be amused.
Mask: Now how am I supposed to know that?
It continued to give mixed laughter. Then stopped. It turned it's head left sharply, which in turn flung the mask off. Another mask came out of the many that encircled itself and planted it on it's face. When it returned to face me (generally to face me) it had a confused expression. It pulled out a couple of cards with writing on them. It seemed like a mad man wrote on the cards, the writing was smudged and nearly unreadable. It then through the cards behind us but as I watched the cards fly into the air they seemed to slowly be devoured by the surrounding darkness. I saw a fast motion and saw Mask leaning towards me across an open seat, it propped its elbow on a chair's arm rest, then his head on that hand. The mask/face had a different expression. A devious expression.
Mask: Pop quiz!
Me: What?
With that it snapped it's fingers and white things came forth from the ground. it was as flat as paper and came in long three inch width and started wrapping around every part of my body. I reached toward Mask in a fit of anger. I grabbed it's mask and was ripped backwards by the strange white beings. But as I was ripped back I ripped off it's mask. It let out a shriek, well, she let out a shriek. with no mask to hide behind I see that it was a girl. Her banes flowed forward as she held one of her hands to cover her face and the other to push me back. The mask flew from hand as I was being brought to the ground by the white things, they pinned me there as well. They kept wrapping and wrapping, it was harder to move, harder to breather. I watched as my body continued to be covered and bounded by these apparitions. Eventually one last one went over my right eye which revealed a blinding light. After awhile I found that I was staring it a bright light on the ceiling of a hospital. I could only see out of my right eye and bandages covered every square inch of my body. But I knew what would be behind, scars from cuts and burns. Mostly burns. I felt something heavy on my left arm and as I looked over I saw Rissa, she was there and I felt light once again. Yet, she looked extremely sad, she looked at me with pity for some reason. I reached out towards her and for some reason she seemed soo very out of reach. She stood, wearing a black winter jacket and a brown skirt. I couldn't hear her but I saw the words. They slipped from her mouth and floated in front of her the letters were white and they shook as if there were more than one at a time. But they were small and I couldn't read them
Rissa: dfdsakfld dflafadjsklf alfdjakf dladkfalsddkfdadf dladf
I couldn't hear her that well and I even tried telling her so but all I could manage were a few muffled words. She stood with her eyes to the ground and continue to say.
Rissa: dkfdk dkadkla dfafd
She walked to the door and opened it. From right there she stopped and looked at me from over her shoulder and said.
Rissa: Good Bye.
The lettering for those words trailed behind her as she walked out the door. The letters were still shaking but were readable. I tried to move, it was hard but then I finally worked up the strength to throw my self from bed. I hit the ground hard but I still stayed awake. I crawled towards the door, luckily there was a crutch next to it. I grabbed the crutch and picked myself up with it and made my way out the door. I was staggering barley able to keep stable but she walked soo much faster, she was heading towards the elevator. I saw a wheel chair, I fell down towards it and with a bit of luck landed in it. I used the crutch to push me towards her, I was going an incredible speed, so fast. But, just like that, it suddenly stopped and flung me forward. I hit the ground and slid to the back of her heels, she just stood there for a moment. I lifted myself with my hands, my legs wouldn't move but I at least kept my upper body off the ground. I grabbed her skirt weakly but tight enough for her to notice me, but then she just walked onward and her skirt just passed right through my fingers as if they weren't there. I tried grabbing on again but she just got out of my reach and to that last attempt I fell forward on my face. As I looked up from defeat I saw her getting on the elevator and disappear. I fell back down.
A pool of blood was starting to surround my body. I felt it passing every bit of me, it looked like a bloody red sea traveling towards me. I fell through my puddle of blood and found myself in an alley. I wore torn carpenter pants, worn out boots, and a green heavy jacket. I was homeless with several bits and parts of my bandages still clinging to me. I sat myself into a sitting position and allowed the darkness in the alley into it's warm embrace and slept there for a while.
end.
