(please read part 1)
The girls wondered around with linked arms, whispering again to one another each time they came across Valentine working on something in the store. Of course, this was getting on Val's nerves; they weren't buying anything and the mostly spoke of him, as though he was a rock star.
"Oh Val, are you switching into my Science class?" One of the two girls asked hoping for the answer she wanted.
Valentine didn't look at her, he was to busy organizing the stock on the shelves; someone had thought it would be funny to switch the labels around on the product. "I wont be switching, the teacher said it was already to late in the game to switch. So there's you're answer." His voice was cold and his stress level already at a max with the girls.
The two girls sighed both at the same time and turned to grab a few snacks to eat. Val rang the items in at the front desk and the girls were off, munching away while chatting.
Later that afternoon Val found himself resting his shoulder on the desk, with his chin on his palm. He had finished his regular duties early that day and the manager was out running around trying to get in contact with other stores for publicity. He let out a sigh at the thought of this store becoming popular. That meant more shifts and more annoying kids from his school.
Just as Valentine was about to drift off the bell over the door chimed and a stranger walked in standing at the door, hands in his pockets and an intrigue look around the store with one glance. Val stood up straight and stared at the stranger. His facial features were amazing, one could mistaken him for a model on the cover of a popular magazine.
"C-can I help you sir?" Val asked the stranger as he stood there by the door, blocking anyone else's chance of entering the shop. The stranger looked over at Val and gave him a sweet smile. "Oh, yes, as a matter of fact, I was looking for some tools..." The stranger walked over to the counter where Val stood behind and pulled out a crumpled sheet of lined paper. "I need gardening tools, and some seeds..."
Val showed the customer to a section of the shop where they carried a limited amount of gardening supplies. The stranger was not pleased by the selection but took some things anyways. "Thank you." He said for the service that Val had given.
The young man lingered at the counter and the picked up his bag. With a slight nod he left in no rush. Val let out a sigh of relief that, that was over. He figured the stranger was around his age...17 or 18...it was hard to exactly tell the difference in both ages. However his face and body would not be forgotten. The stranger Val had put thought's into his head of who he could have been...model came to the top of the list along with: move star, artist (song writer), lyricist, or a very wealthy boy from the city whose father owned a major business. His heart beat faster and he suddenly began to blush at the thoughts.
Val cleaned up and decided to go home, jogging all the way...but instead of his mind being clear as usual, the thought of the stranger was carved into his skull.
(to be continued)
